Weaving connections between art, science, history, culture and nature at some of the city's premier cultural institutions, BCAP Summer Camp helps youth ages 7-12 explore the cultural riches right here in Brooklyn. Each day, BCAP Adventurers travel to two different sites and participate in hands-on workshops that make learning fun. This unique camp forges lasting connections between Brooklyn’s kids and their cultural community, while introducing them to new friends from across the borough and beyond. BCAP's innovative approach has been recognized with a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award presented by First Lady Michelle Obama.

The curriculum theme for Summer 2012 is Myths and Magic. In each camp session, Adventurers will explore world cultures at Brooklyn Children’s Museum, become plant scientists at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, discover the great outdoors of Prospect Park, have literary adventures at Brooklyn Public Library, meet sea lions and baboons at Prospect Park Zoo, create artistic masterpieces at Brooklyn Museum and much more.

BCAP is offered in three two-week sessions in summer 2012:

Session 1: July 2 – July 13
Session 2: July 16 – July 27
Session 3: July 30 – August 10
Tuition assistance is offered for qualifying families. BCAP’s lessons are consistent with New York State Learning Standards and are taught by professional educators. For registration, fees and schedules, visit www.heartofbrooklyn.org/bcap or call the BCAP Registrar at (718) 638-7700, x16.

BCAP is a proud recipient of a New York Life Foundation Nurturing the Children Award and a Nickelodeon Parents Pick "Best Day Camp for Big Kids" Award. BCAP received a National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from First Lady Michelle Obama in 2010.
