The Heart of Brooklyn cultural destination is located in central Brooklyn. We are easily accessible via several subway lines and major roadways. The cultural partnership also runs a FREE shuttle on the first Saturday of every month from Target First Saturday at Brooklyn Museum to nearby places to eat, drink and shop.

Group Tours

Include any of the below group tour options within your successful New York City itineraries, or customize an exclusive Brooklyn-only Day Trip. Cross over the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and follow direct routes along major arteries to enjoy convenient motor coach parking, full service facilities, and friendly, welcoming reception staff.

The Garden's seasonal highlights guided tours are led by expert guides from Tuesday - Sunday by appointment. Minimum 10 people. Tours are rain or shine. Peak viewing months are listed below:

  • Lily Pool Terrace July, August, September
  • Cranford Rose Garden June, September
  • Fragrance Garden July, September
  • Steinhardt Conservatory Year-Round
  • C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum Year-Round

Free guided tours are offered at 1pm on weekends. Meet at the Visitor Center; no reservations are needed.

Guided Group Tour
Take a tour of the museum's permanent collection, or ask about current and upcoming special exhibits led by trained educators for an engaging and stimulating experience. Each tour is for one hour and can be tailored to meet a variety of interests. Minimum 10 people. Tours must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance.

Art & Garden Tour
Pairs the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Seasonal Highlights Tour and Brooklyn Museum permanent collection tour with an included sandwich lunch. Tour lasts 3-4hours. Contact (718) 501-6222 or grouptours@brooklynmuseum.org to book.

 

Brooklyn Public Library offers guided behind-the-scenes tours of the Central Library branch by appointment for groups of ten or more (1 hour). Participants learn about the history of the Central Library and visit the Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper "morgue".

Discover Tours of Prospect Park leaves from the Audubon Center and trails along the Lullwater, around the spectacular ravine and through Brooklyn's last remaining forest. Encounter over 200 species of birds that inhabit the Park and learn how modern ecological techniques are enabling Brooklyn native woodlands to thrive again.

  • Introduction to Bird Watching: Saturdays at 12pm
  • Discover Tours: Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm
  • Early Bird Walks: First Sunday of every month at 8am

All tours are free of charge. No reservation required.

Upcoming Spring 2011!
Groups can enjoy a unique and beautiful spring or summer evening in Prospect Park with a Twilight Tour. Start the evening with wine and cheese on the charming Audubon Boathouse balcony, ride the Idependence electric boat on the Lullwater and then an Audubon Naturalist will lead participants on an exclusive Bat Tour Walk. Reservations are required.

The Zoo Highlight Tour will take your group on a guided tour to the Zoo's newest critters and long-time residents. Choose one or two of the below exhibit areas to visit:
